Record Store Day 2016 – What’s On In Edinburgh

Record Store Day is back in 2016 and here’s Alive & Amplified Guide to what is going on in Edinburgh.

record store day Edinburgh

Record Store day began in 2007 when over 700 independent record shops in the US got together to celebrate all things vinyl.  Now into it’s 9th year (Saturday 16th April) and this is a world wild affair.  Some will argue that RSD has now become less about celebrating and helping out the Independent stores it set out to help and is more about the major labels releasing a couple of bonus track on an old album and calling is an “Exclusive”. However this doesn’t stop Edinburgh celebrating some of the finest bands going about.

Here’s what on in Edinburgh…

Vox Box Music, 21 St. Stephens Street, Edinburgh.

Vox Box always throws a cracking RSD party and this year they have pulled out all the stops. Not only will they be coinciding this with their 5th birthday but they have taken over 2 pubs across the road where they will be showcasing some of Scotland’s best bands and hosting a couple of interviews.
