Edinburgh’s Indigo Velvet have announced their biggest show to date, they play The Liquid Rooms on 8th December.
Indigo Velvet will round off, what has already been an incredible 2017, with a homecoming show at Edinburgh’s Liquid Rooms on 8th December.
Having already played The Great Escape, Xpo North, the International Film Festival, Northern Roots & loads more and with shows at Kendal Calling, Belladrum, Hope & Glory and Carnival 56 to name a few still to come, it has be argued that 2017 is Indigo Velvet’s most successful year yet. They also released a brand new single ‘Mona’ back in April.
I asked the boys why they were looking forward to the gig and what Indigo Velvet fans can expect.
For as long as we’ve been writing music, we have always wanted to perform on the big stages to sold out crowds. Having the opportunity to showcase our music as well as end what has been our best year as a band at one of Edinburghs most famous live music venues is a dream come true. 700 people coming out to give us a big warm welcome.
We’ve been working hard on this show behind the scenes for the majority of the year, in between our hectic festival season schedule we are in the middle of and writing new music at the same time. To get new music recorded and out there prior to the show and then performing them live is the real deal for us. It’s a constant process and the end result is making sure it’s the biggest show yet.
Fans can expect a high energy show with lots of new music.
The work that is going into making sure we have the best visuals, everything from stage design to strobe lights, new backdrop designs and merchandise to decorating Laurie’s amp in cute stickers, every bit of detail and thought is going into it. We will have some more news before the show which will make it even more special. The size of the stage will suit us well, the crowd interaction will be a massive part of the show.
