Meursault + RM Hubbert + Sealionwoman will play at Leith Volcano on Friday 18th August.
St James Church on Constitution Street in Leith has, like many spaces in Edinburgh, been transformed into a venue for the duration of August.
Song By Toad have jumped at the chance of putting a show on so close to their HQ and Meursault, RM Hubbert & Sealionwoman will play this stunning venue.
After a brief rebranding as Supermoon, Neil Pennycook brought Meursault back from the dead in 2016 with EP ‘Simple Is Good’ and followed up this year with the album ‘I Will Kill Again’ which went on to be shortlisted for the Scottish Album of the Year Award. It’s great to have Meursault back and I am looking forward to seeing the live show again.
RM Hubbert needs no introduction to the Scottish music world as he’s been creating wonderful music for years now including 2013’s SAY Award winning album ‘Thirteen Lost & Found’. Last year’s collection of collaborations ‘Telling The Tree’ was one of our favourites here at A&A with guests such as Kathryn Joseph, Sarah J Stanley & Marnie guesting on tracks. A headliner in his own right, don’t miss!
Sealionwoman is Kitty Whitelaw and Tye McGivern – a musical partnership born from the cacophonous jazz-racket of Kitty and the Drowning Bag, a London-based power-trio featuring John Tillyer on drums. I know very little more about this band but from the music I have heard, I am looking forward to listening in a beautiful church.
