Declan Welsh & The Decadent West To Release New EP ‘Impermanency’ and Will Play The Glasgow Barrowland

Scottish indie favourites Declan Welsh & The Decadent West announce the arrival of their ‘Impermanency’ EP, set for release July 4th, and share brand new track ‘Aw The Time’ today (May 23rd), alongside details of their biggest headliner to date at Glasgow’s iconic Barrowland Ballroom.

Following on from three sold-out headline shows at Glasgow’s historic King Tut’s venue, and a mammoth UK and Ireland tour in support of fellow Scots Twin Atlantic, the rollicking indie quartet will play Glasgow’s legendary Barrowland stage for the very first time on November 18th, in what marks a monumental step forward in the group’s thrilling development.

With a tremendous amount of press acclaim (The Independent, The Line Of Best Fit, Dork, Clash, Under The Radar, Gigwise, The Forty-Five) and BBC Radio 1 (Jack Saunders, Jordan North) spins already notched up in recent times, the band’s newest EP reveal ‘Aw The Time’ reflects a continued shift in direction and a maturing sound, acting as a bridge between the charged indie rock of their debut album and their yet untitled second LP, due in 2023.

Speaking ahead of its release, Welsh stated: “As much as I’m starting to think that it’s good that what I mean in a song and what people take from a song can be totally different things, this to me is pretty obviously just about insomnia. I’ve always struggled sleeping and written nearly every tune between the hours of 12am-5am. It’s probably most reflective of that point where you just start to lose your mind a little bit through lack of sleep, and it actually becomes fun. For about 3 and a half minutes. Then it’s shite again”.

Declan Welsh & The Decadent West’s ‘Aw The Time’ is out May 23rd and will be available via all digital platforms.
