The 3rd Alive & Amplified Showcase at Leith Depot will feature Echo Arcadia, Peacock Massive & Carrie Mac on 15th April
A&A Showcase mark 2 doesn’t actually take place until this weekend but there ain’t no rest for the wicked and I am delighted to announce the 3rd showcase at Leith Depot on 15th April with have Echo Arcadia, Peacock Massive & Carrie Mac.
I first saw Echo Arcadia, when Ian & I were asked to judge a Battle Of The Bands at The Liquid Rooms in 2012. Yep they did win and I have booked them for a couple of shows since, namely Haddow Fest and the launch night for their debut album ‘Beauty In An Average Life’ in a sold-out Sneaky Pete’s. So when they announced they had new tunes ready to go I jumped at the chance to get them in for a showcase. Next single is out in 8 weeks but you can stream it below and the 2nd album ‘Visions Of Symmetry’ will follow in the summer.
This band are new to me. I have listened to them a few times while doing the gig guide for this site as they have played a couple of the Thursdays At Teviot this year. I had a good listen to them last week and on the back of their tunes I decided to book them for this showcase. Peacock Massive are James Gilbert on guitar and vocals and Julia Masselos on drums although that is not set in stone as they describe themselves and a music collective where anyone can get involved… even you. A very exciting band and I’m looking forward to seeing them, whoever they may be, at this Showcase.
Carrie has been around the Edinburgh music scene for as long as Ian & I have been doing radio and she has been a regular on the show since we started in 2007. From early acoustic album ‘Believe’ through to the more poppy singles ‘Till I See You Again’ and ‘Hello’ and back again she’s had busy time of it including touring the UK with X Factor winner Alexandra Burke. It’s great to see Carrie back armed with her guitar, song writing and her beautifully unique voice. Get down early.
Tickets for this are £5 (subject to booking fee) and are available now.
