“So after all this, I hope people don’t take all the little things for granted”
I heard someone say this today and it’s so true. One thing that has provided a sanctuary this week for me is Lauren Laverne’s BBC 6 Music Breakfast show. It is a little thing. Get up in the morning and stick on the radio. Usually, you don’t think much about it, but the positivity coming out of that show this week has really helped me start the days in a positive way. Her weekly feature the people playlist today was about community and finished with Paul McCartney & The Frog Chorus’ ‘We All Stand Together’. Surely this will become the unofficial anthem of the shit we are all going through.
That has also inspired me to start a joint playlist on Spotify with absolutely anyone who wants to get involved. We are all going to be spending more time in the house the next couple of months so let’s make a massive playlist of house party bangers. No Rules! No Judgement! No Genres! Add what you like, a self-plug or just something you love!! Find it and add to it at smarturl.it/AAHouseMusic
The response to the Sneaky Pete’s Crowdfunder page has been excellent. I take my hat off to everyone who has donated at this very difficult time for a lot of people financially. The Hug & Pint also need help. Again this is a similar situation to the one at Sneaks. It’s one of the key venues in Glasgow for up and coming bands to get a start. Without these grassroots venues, the live music scene will suffer as a consequence. Please take a look at their own Crowdfunder page and give what you can.
People can’t get out to gigs so loads of artists are doing live streams. Anyone who knows me will know of my Coldplay* love and Chris Martin jumped on Instagram live the other night to start #TogetherAtHome with Global Citizen. Robbie Williams followed suit and there have been loads happening. There have been Scottish acts getting involved.

Anna Sweeney will be replacing her EP Launch at Habour Arts Centre on Saturday with a lived stream acoustic show. Her EP is also out on Saturday, and like a lot of artists Anna has found all of her work canceled for the foreseeable so if you can buy a physical copy of the EP then do. There are also some T-Shirts for sale with feature the cute AF dog, Jasper. Check out her Facebook.
If you have got in touch over the last couple of days with new music or some news that you would like shared, please bear with me. The response has been great and I will do my very best to get through them all.
In the meantime, listen to music, add to that playlist, stream some live gigs and shout about your pals in music who might be having a tough time right now. We can all help.
